Job Description

The Lifting Supervisor will be responsible for supervising lifting operations in compliance with international safety and operational standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in lifting equipment, offshore/onshore operations, and risk management in high-risk environments such as oil & gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lifting Operations & Supervision

  • Supervise critical lifting operations on site
  • Plan both critical and non-critical lifts
  • Ensure safe execution of all lifting and handling activities
  • Oversee lifting equipment usage and compliance

Standards & Compliance

  • Work in accordance with international standards (BS, LOLER, NORSOK)
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
  • Follow and enforce risk assessment procedures

Inspection & Technical Duties

  • Inspect and supervise lifting equipment including:
    • Cranes (onshore & offshore)
    • Forklifts and stackers
    • Winches and powered hoists
    • Overhead cranes, runway beams, swing jibs
    • Containers and CCUs
  • Perform wire rope inspections

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare lifting plans and method statements
  • Ensure proper documentation of lifting operations
  • Follow fitting procedures and complete technical reporting

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Technical Engineer qualification OR industry-related certification
  • LEEA / EAL / CPA certification preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in lifting & handling operations at supervisory level
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry strongly preferred
  • Strong background in onshore and offshore operations

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of lifting equipment and operations
  • Ability to supervise high-risk lifting activities
  • Strong understanding of HSE procedures and risk assessments
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in international and multicultural environments
