Job Overview

The Health, Safety & Environment Specialist will lead HSE policy implementation, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance across all sites. The role supports operational excellence while protecting people and the environment. The specialist will also coordinate with contractors to ensure that all subcontractors adhere to the same high HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update HSE procedures to meet corporate and Angolan standards.
  • Perform site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Lead risk assessments and job safety analyses for new and existing projects.
  • Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
  • Monitor environmental performance and manage waste streams.
  • Prepare regulatory reports for Angolan authorities.
  • Integrate HSE considerations into design and execution phases.
  • Maintain HSE documentation, metrics, and dashboards.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Angolan HSE law and international standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001).
  • Analytical mindset with data‑driven safety reporting.
  • Fluent Portuguese and English communication.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with incident investigation and corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in HSE software and MS Office.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certifications such as CSP, NEBOSH, or IOSH are a plus.

Experience

At least five years of HSE experience in oil and gas, preferably offshore or onshore production. Prior work in Angola or other African markets is advantageous.

Salary

The role offers a competitive salary of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 AOA per month, plus performance bonuses, health insurance, and a pension plan.
