Job Overview
Arup Angola seeks a passionate Urban Sustainability Planner to lead projects in Huambo, focusing on integrating green infrastructure, renewable energy systems, and community-driven planning. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement urban sustainability strategies aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for proposed infrastructure projects
- Design climate-resilient urban layouts incorporating green spaces, renewable energy, and water conservation systems
- Facilitate workshops with local communities to co-create inclusive urban development plans
- Collaborate with municipal authorities to update zoning regulations and building codes
- Prepare technical reports, 3D models, and visualizations for project stakeholders
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in urban planning, environmental sustainability, or related disciplines
- Proficiency in GIS mapping, AutoCAD, and urban simulation software
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of Angolan urban development policies and regulations
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience

Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
