Job Overview

This role is part of Angola’s national initiative to modernize energy infrastructure. The Smart Grid Systems Engineer will lead the design and implementation of intelligent energy distribution networks in Lobito, integrating renewable energy sources with traditional power grids. The position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies like AI-driven load balancing and IoT-enabled grid monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize smart grid architectures for urban and rural energy distribution
  • Integrate solar, wind, and hydro energy systems into centralized power networks
  • Develop predictive maintenance protocols using AI analytics tools
  • Collaborate with municipal authorities on energy policy implementation
  • Conduct feasibility studies for grid modernization projects

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in smart grid simulation software (ETAP, PowerWorld)
  • Experience with SCADA systems and energy storage solutions
  • Knowledge of Angolan energy regulations and grid standards
  • Strong analytical skills for energy demand forecasting
  • Bilingual (Portuguese/English) communication abilities

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Systems

Experience

Salary

2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP/month + performance-based bonuses
