Job Overview
This position is part of AES Angola’s initiative to expand energy storage capabilities across Southern Africa. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing energy storage solutions to enhance grid stability and renewable energy integration. Candidates will contribute to AES’s mission of creating a cleaner energy future while working with state-of-the-art technologies in Lubango’s emerging energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement energy storage systems for renewable energy integration
- Conduct feasibility studies for battery storage projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on grid modernization initiatives
- Monitor and optimize system performance using advanced analytics tools
- Ensure compliance with national and international energy standards
Required Skills
- Expertise in lithium-ion or flow battery technologies
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, MATLAB)
- Experience with SCADA systems for energy storage monitoring
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years in energy storage system design or implementation

Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
