Job Overview

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing smart grid systems to enhance energy distribution efficiency in Angola. The position is based in Lobito, a key hub for infrastructure development along the Benguela Railway corridor. Candidates will contribute to Enel Green Power’s mission of delivering reliable, sustainable energy solutions while supporting Angola’s national energy transition goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop smart grid systems integrating renewable energy sources with traditional power networks.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for grid modernization projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement energy storage and demand-response solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international energy efficiency standards.
  • Provide technical support for grid monitoring and real-time data analytics platforms.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in smart grid design software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
  • Experience with renewable energy integration and grid stability analysis.
  • Strong project management skills for multi-phase infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Angolan energy regulations and permitting processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities for complex energy system challenges.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, or related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) in Energy Engineering are a plus.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in smart grid systems design, preferably in emerging markets. Prior involvement in renewable energy projects in Angola or neighboring regions is highly advantageous.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and technical expertise.
