Job Overview

This role is part of Exxaro’s strategic initiative to integrate renewable energy systems into mining operations across Angola. The position is based in Lobito, a key hub for energy and infrastructure development. The company is seeking a dynamic professional to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of hybrid energy systems combining solar, wind, and grid solutions for mining sites. Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage the integration of renewable energy systems with existing mining infrastructure.
• Conduct feasibility studies for solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects in remote mining locations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
• Monitor energy performance metrics and propose improvements for cost efficiency and carbon reduction.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, including government and community representatives.

Required Skills

• Proven expertise in renewable energy system design and project management.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, PVsyst).
• Experience in mining sector energy solutions or similar industrial environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental) or Environmental Science.
• Master’s Degree preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy project development or mining sector energy management.
• Previous work in Angola or other African markets is advantageous.

Salary

Exxaro Resources Angola offers a competitive salary package of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 Angolan Sobra (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
