This role is part of AECOM’s initiative to strengthen infrastructure resilience in Angolan cities facing climate and environmental challenges. The position requires a proactive engineer to design, assess, and implement infrastructure solutions that mitigate climate risks while supporting long-term urban development. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct climate risk assessments for urban infrastructure projects.
  • Design adaptive infrastructure solutions for flood mitigation, heat resilience, and water management.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to integrate community needs into project planning.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and sustainability impact analyses.
  • Monitor and evaluate infrastructure performance under climate stress scenarios.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS).
  • Experience with climate modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWAT).
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English.
  • Project management and cross-cultural communication abilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • Master’s Degree in Climate Resilience or Sustainable Infrastructure preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure design or climate adaptation projects.
  • Proven track record in urban resilience or sustainable development initiatives.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
