Job Overview

The Data Center Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, and optimization of AWS’s data center facilities in Luanda. This role ensures that all physical infrastructure—including power, cooling, security, and building systems—operates at peak efficiency, supporting the uninterrupted delivery of cloud services to customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all facility operations, including power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and physical security systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and ensure compliance with AWS sustainability targets.
  • Lead incident response and root‑cause analysis for any facility‑related outages, collaborating with technical teams to restore services swiftly.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee third‑party service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and AWS internal policies related to safety, environmental impact, and data center operations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on facility performance, capacity planning, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, and security technologies.
