Job Overview

The Wind Farm Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Vestas’ wind farm portfolio in the Chibia region. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of wind turbines, while maximizing energy production and minimizing downtime. The manager will coordinate with engineering, maintenance, health‑and‑safety, and stakeholder teams to implement best practices, drive continuous improvement, and uphold Vestas’ high standards of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational performance of all wind turbines within the Chibia wind farm, ensuring targets for availability, capacity factor, and production are met.
  • Lead a team of technicians, engineers, and contractors, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans, coordinating with the Maintenance Department to schedule outages efficiently.
  • Monitor real‑time data from SCADA systems, analyze trends, and initiate corrective actions to address performance deviations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on turbine upgrades, performance optimization studies, and technology integration.
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, landowners, and community stakeholders, addressing concerns and promoting transparent communication.
  • Prepare and present operational reports, KPI dashboards, and incident investigations to senior management.
  • Drive cost‑reduction initiatives through process improvements, resource optimization, and innovative solutions.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and team‑management abilities with a focus on safety culture.
  • In‑depth knowledge of wind turbine technology, SCADA systems, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions under pressure.

Education
