Job Overview
The Insurance Underwriting Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating risk, pricing policies, and supporting the underwriting team to ensure profitable and compliant insurance solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze applications, financial statements, and risk data to determine appropriate insurance coverage and pricing.
- Prepare detailed underwriting reports and recommendations for senior underwriters and management.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and suggest adjustments to underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop tailored insurance solutions that meet client needs while maintaining profitability.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards and Allianz Group underwriting policies.
- Maintain accurate records in underwriting systems and contribute to data quality initiatives.
- Participate in market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and economic factors affecting risk assessment.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in Excel and underwriting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or equivalent are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance underwriting, risk analysis, or a related financial services role. Experience within the Angolan market or broader African insurance sector is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the total rewards.
