Job Overview

The Energy Storage Systems Engineer will lead the design, specification, and implementation of battery storage solutions for utility‑scale and commercial projects throughout Angola. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end engineering of lithium‑ion and flow battery storage systems, from concept to commissioning.
• Develop detailed technical specifications, schematics, and integration plans aligned with local grid codes and international standards.
• Perform system sizing, load flow analysis, and performance simulations using industry‑standard software tools.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
• Conduct on‑site inspections, testing, and validation to verify system performance and safety compliance.
• Provide technical support during operation, troubleshooting, and optimization phases.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and as‑built records for client and regulatory review.
• Stay abreast of emerging storage technologies, market trends, and regulatory changes to recommend innovative solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the engineering department.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in power system analysis, battery management systems, and energy management software.
• Strong understanding of IEC, IEEE, and Angolan grid standards for energy storage.
• Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN) and simulation platforms (e.g., PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a data‑driven approach to system optimization.
• Effective communication skills in English and Portuguese, both written and verbal.
• Project management capabilities, including risk assessment and stakeholder coordination.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
