Job Overview
The Aerospace Systems Integration Engineer will join Airbus’s Engineering department in Moçâmedes, playing a pivotal role in the design, integration, verification and validation of complex aerospace systems for both commercial and defense platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of avionics, flight control, communication and navigation subsystems into aircraft platforms.
- Develop and execute integration test plans, procedures and validation protocols.
- Coordinate with suppliers, internal stakeholders and certification authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze system performance data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation, configuration management records and reporting for project audits.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance integration processes and reduce cycle times.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of aerospace system architecture, interfaces and standards (e.g., ARINC, MIL‑STD).
- Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CATIA or similar.
- Experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing and real‑time data acquisition.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
- Effective communication skills in English; Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments and manage multiple priorities.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates must possess a solid academic foundation in systems engineering, control theory and aircraft structures.
Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of five years of professional experience in aerospace systems integration, preferably on commercial aircraft or defense platforms. Prior involvement in certification processes (EASA, FAA, or local authorities) and exposure to international supply chains will be highly valued.
Salary
