Job Overview

The Credit Risk Modeling Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced credit risk models that support the bank’s lending decisions, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory reporting. This role collaborates closely with the Risk Management, Credit, and Data Science teams to ensure models are accurate, compliant, and aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and implement credit risk scorecards, probability of default (PD) models, and loss given default (LGD) models.
  • Perform rigorous back‑testing, stress testing, and model performance monitoring to ensure ongoing accuracy.
  • Collaborate with credit officers to translate model outputs into actionable lending decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, model governance reports, and regulatory submissions in line with Basel III and local banking regulations.
  • Analyze large datasets using SQL, Python, or R to extract insights and improve model robustness.
  • Present model findings and recommendations to senior management and risk committees.
  • Stay abreast of emerging risk modeling methodologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS.
  • Expertise in credit risk concepts, Basel III, and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and data manipulation techniques.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and their application to credit risk.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting complex model results to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams.

Education

A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline is required. Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in credit risk modeling, preferably within a banking or financial services environment. Demonstrated track record of developing production‑grade models that have been deployed for credit decisioning.

Salary
