Job Overview

This role is critical to ensuring compliance with national and international environmental regulations while maintaining a safe working environment in mining operations. The position requires a proactive approach to risk mitigation, environmental monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. Candidates will contribute to Angola’s mining sector growth while upholding ethical and sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits of mining operations to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans for mine sites.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and communities to address environmental concerns.
  • Monitor air, water, and soil quality to prevent ecological degradation.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to reduce risks.
  • Provide training to staff on safety protocols and environmental best practices.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in Angolan mining and environmental legislation.
  • Proficiency in environmental impact assessment tools.
  • Strong analytical skills for risk evaluation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience with mine safety software and GIS mapping systems.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Mining Engineering, or related field.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
