Job Overview

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and supervision of structural components for large‑scale construction projects in Kuito and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design and analysis for commercial, residential, and industrial projects using advanced software such as SAP2000, ETABS, and Revit.
  • Prepare detailed calculation reports, construction drawings, and specifications in compliance with Angolan building codes and international standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into overall project designs.
  • Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities to verify adherence to design intent, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Review and approve sub‑contractor calculations, material submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training on best practices, code updates, and software tools.
  • Participate in value engineering workshops to optimize material usage, reduce costs, and improve constructability.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure timely submission of deliverables to clients and regulatory authorities.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Strong knowledge of Angolan building regulations, Eurocode, and ACI standards.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills in Portuguese and English, both written and verbal.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is mandatory. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) or PMP are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Salary
