Job Overview
The Agricultural Data Scientist will design, develop, and implement advanced analytics models that translate complex agricultural data into actionable recommendations for farmers and internal stakeholders. Working closely with agronomists, engineers, and IT teams, you will harness large datasets from satellite imagery, IoT sensors, weather stations, and field trials to optimize planting schedules, fertilizer application, and pest management strategies. Your insights will directly influence product development, market strategies, and sustainability programs, positioning Syngenta Angola as a leader in precision agriculture across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and integrate multi‑source agricultural data, including remote sensing, soil health metrics, and yield records.
- Develop predictive models using machine learning techniques to forecast crop performance and disease risk.
- Collaborate with agronomists to translate analytical findings into practical field recommendations.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations for internal teams and external farmer partners.
- Conduct statistical analyses to evaluate the impact of new seed varieties and input products.

- Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

Education

Salary
