Job Overview
The Content Localization Manager will lead the end‑to‑end process of adapting Netflix’s global catalog for the Angolan market. This includes overseeing translation, dubbing, subtitling, and cultural adaptation of titles to ensure they meet both Netflix’s quality standards and local audience expectations. The manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Production, Legal, Marketing, and Technology, to deliver localized content on schedule and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the localization strategy for Netflix’s catalog in Angola, aligning with global standards and local market needs.
- Manage the full lifecycle of content adaptation, including translation, dubbing, subtitling, and cultural consulting.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders—Product, Legal, Marketing, and Engineering—to ensure timely delivery of localized assets.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external language service providers, voice actors, and cultural experts.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical compliance.
- Monitor and report on localization KPIs, such as turnaround time, cost efficiency, and audience satisfaction.
- Lead a small team of localization coordinators, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in media localization.
Required Skills
- Fluency in Portuguese (Angolan variant) and English; additional African languages are a plus.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Deep understanding of cultural nuances and media consumption habits in Angola.
- Proficiency with localization tools and software (e.g., CAT tools, subtitling platforms).
- Analytical mindset for data‑driven decision making.
- Leadership experience, preferably managing creative or linguistic teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in translation, project management, or media production are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in content localization, translation management, or media production, with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality localized content for streaming platforms or broadcasters.
Salary
The annual compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and benefits.
