Job Overview
The Environmental Compliance Engineer will join KPMG Angola’s Environmental Services department to lead compliance assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure that client operations meet all applicable Angolan environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments and compliance audits for client projects.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans that align with Angolan legislation and international standards.
- Prepare detailed reports, permits, and documentation required for regulatory submissions.
- Advise clients on best practices for waste management, emissions control, and resource conservation.
- Collaborate with legal, engineering, and finance teams to integrate compliance requirements into project designs.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure continuous adherence to environmental commitments.
- Facilitate training sessions for client staff on environmental policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on changes to national environmental laws and emerging global sustainability trends.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Angolan environmental regulations and international standards (ISO 14001, GRI).
- Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools, GIS software, and data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports for diverse audiences.
- Project management experience with a focus on compliance timelines.
- Analytical mindset with problem‑solving capabilities.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience conducting environmental compliance assessments, preferably within a consulting or engineering firm. Experience in Angola’s mining, energy, or manufacturing sectors is highly valued.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are included.
