Job Overview
The Hotel Operations Manager will be the operational backbone of the Sumbe property, overseeing all day‑to‑day activities that ensure guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the incumbent will coordinate cross‑functional teams, implement brand standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is pivotal in translating the Radisson Blu brand promise into tangible guest experiences while aligning with corporate objectives and local market dynamics. The successful candidate will lead a diverse team of department heads, manage budgets, and collaborate with sales and marketing to maximize occupancy and revenue. Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise all operational departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Engineering.
- Ensure compliance with Radisson Blu brand standards, local regulations, and health & safety protocols.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost‑control measures.
- Lead guest experience initiatives, handling escalated complaints and ensuring swift resolution.
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to design promotional packages that drive occupancy and RevPAR.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and development plans for department heads and staff.
- Implement sustainability practices aligned with corporate ESG goals, reducing waste and energy consumption.
- Prepare detailed operational reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, government agencies, and community partners.
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, and training programs to sustain a high‑performing workforce.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Expertise in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) and data analytics.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on revenue optimization and cost efficiency.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English; additional languages are a plus.
- Deep understanding of hospitality trends, guest expectations, and local market conditions.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates with a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) will be given preference.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in hotel operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a mid‑scale to upscale property.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and other employee benefits.
