Job Description
Maintenance Know-how
- Perform loop testing from field instruments (transmitters, valves, SOVs, limit switches) to PCS/SSS inputs/outputs
- Calibrate valve positioners
- Install, remove, calibrate, and test common gauges and transmitters (pressure, level, temperature, flow)
- Test and calibrate Fire & Gas (F&G) detection systems and ensure proper safety inhibits
Practical Skills
- Proper use of hand tools and workshop equipment
- Handling tubing, compression fittings, gaskets, O-rings, cable glands
- Use of calibration and testing equipment (multimeters, hydraulic pumps, deadweight testers, temperature baths, smart calibrators)
Maintenance Knowledge
- Understand preventive and corrective maintenance concepts
- Use CMMS systems (create notifications, read and complete work orders)
- Prepare tools, spare parts, and procedures for preventive maintenance tasks
Equipment Knowledge
- Understanding of instrument operation (transmitters, thermocouples, metering devices, vibration probes, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Understanding of valves (manual, automatic, PSV) and positioners
- Familiarity with Fire & Gas detection systems
Engineering Skills
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, ESD matrices, loop diagrams, datasheets, and vendor documents
- Understanding of control principles (cascade, split range, simple control loops)
- Basic logic understanding (AND/OR functions)
- Knowledge of PCS, F&G, and ESD systems including alarms, trips, and inhibits
Physics Knowledge
- Understanding of basic physical principles: temperature, pressure, density, volume, specific gravity
Computer Skills
- Ability to prepare reports using MS Word
- Basic Excel calculations
- Familiarity with email and internet usage
Profile Requirements
Petroleum Knowledge
- Basic understanding of oil and gas facilities (from well to export)
- Awareness of hydrocarbon behavior and associated risks (explosion, asphyxiation, etc.)
