Job Overview

The International Education Program Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of UNESCO‑funded education projects in the southern region of Angola. Reporting to the Regional Education Officer, the coordinator will manage multi‑stakeholder partnerships, oversee budgets, and ensure compliance with UNESCO standards and local regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive education program plans that align with UNESCO’s strategic objectives and local education priorities.

  • Manage project budgets ranging from 10 million to 30 million SSP, ensuring transparent financial reporting and adherence to donor requirements.

  • Represent UNESCO at national and regional conferences, seminars, and stakeholder meetings to promote program achievements and share best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong project management expertise with proven ability to deliver complex, multi‑partner programs on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in Portuguese and English; French is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting software (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, SPSS).
  • Deep understanding of Angola’s education system, policy environment, and cultural context.
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations and adapt to challenging field conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equity, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Education

A Master’s degree in Education, International Development, Public Policy, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or monitoring and evaluation are highly regarded.

Experience

Minimum of five years of professional experience in international education program coordination, preferably with UN agencies, NGOs, or bilateral donors. Experience managing budgets above 10 million SSP and leading multi‑stakeholder initiatives is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary is paid in the official Angolan currency (SSP) and includes statutory benefits.
