Job Overview

SPIE Global Services Energy is seeking a QA/QC Inspector (Male/Female) to support inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities in the oil and gas sector. Key Responsibilities

Quality Inspection & Compliance

  • Follow instructions from the Quality Supervisor / Coordinator
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Perform dimensional inspections and complete inspection reports for machine shop outputs
  • Ensure compliance with inspection procedures for OCTG premium connections (e.g., Tenaris, Vallourec standards)

Testing & Measurement

  • Use precision instruments such as:
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Thread ring/plug gauges
    • Ball gauges
    • Indicators and profile projectors
    • Brinell hardness testing equipment
  • Conduct equipment calibration and verification checks

Non-Conformance & Reporting

  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or processes
  • Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when required
  • Communicate inspection issues to direct supervisors immediately
  • Maintain traceability and documentation for tools, assembly, and testing processes

Documentation & Confidentiality

  • Handle confidential client documents securely and ensure data protection compliance
  • Support inspection reports for assembly, function testing, and repair operations
  • Ensure all work follows approved Work Orders and company procedures

Job Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar QA/QC inspection role
  • Experience in oil & gas equipment inspection is highly required

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods)
    • BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) and drilling equipment
    • Premium connections (Tenaris, Vallourec, Grand Prideco)
    • ISO / API quality standards
    • Material identification and equipment handling
    • Calibration tools and measurement systems

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure industrial environment
