Job Overview

The Risk Management Analyst will join the Risk Management Department to support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial and operational risks across Banco BIC’s portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the analyst will work closely with credit, compliance, and business units to develop risk models, conduct stress testing, and provide actionable insights that safeguard the bank’s assets. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative risk assessments for credit, market, and operational exposures using statistical models and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare risk dashboards and regular reports for senior management, highlighting key risk indicators and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Department to evaluate loan proposals, ensuring compliance with risk appetite and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the bank’s risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform stress testing and sensitivity analysis to gauge the impact of macro‑economic shocks on the bank’s portfolio.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the bank’s risk practices align with the Central Bank of Angola’s guidelines.
  • Support internal audit and external regulatory examinations by providing required risk documentation and analysis.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, VBA, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
  • In‑depth understanding of banking risk concepts, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex risk findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of experience in risk analysis, preferably within a banking or financial services environment. Experience with risk modeling, credit assessment, and regulatory reporting is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
