Job Overview

The Senior Process Engineer will lead the design, optimization, and implementation of process solutions for upstream and downstream facilities in Angola. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the role involves overseeing process simulations, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage technical documentation, and mentor junior engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process design and optimization for new and existing oil & gas facilities.
  • Develop and validate process simulation models using industry‑standard software.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with TotalEnergies safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including P&IDs, datasheets, and operation manuals.
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and operations teams to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices across the engineering department.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Project management experience with a focus on delivering results on schedule.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and industry standards (API, ISO).

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in process engineering within the oil and gas sector, preferably with exposure to both upstream and downstream operations.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from AOA 2,500,000 to AOA 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
