Job Overview

The Solar Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing the financial aspects of solar power projects from inception through operation. Reporting to the Head of Project Finance, you will collaborate with engineering, legal, and commercial teams to ensure projects are financially viable, compliant, and aligned with Siemens Gamesa’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial models for solar projects, including cash flow forecasts, debt/equity structuring, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and profitability analyses to support investment decisions.
  • Coordinate with lenders, investors, and government agencies to secure financing and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and investment memoranda for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project financial performance, track key performance indicators, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to draft and review financing agreements, contracts, and covenants.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, policy changes, and financing mechanisms in the renewable energy sector across Africa.
  • Support the development of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) frameworks and reporting for financed projects.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in English; Portuguese fluency is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy financing structures, including PPAs, tax equity, and green bonds.
  • Familiarity with Angolan regulatory environment and banking sector.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Candidates holding an MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants should have 5 to 7 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or corporate finance, with a proven track record in renewable energy projects. Experience working in emerging markets, particularly in Africa, is advantageous.
