Job Overview
The Sustainability Marketing Manager will design, implement, and evaluate integrated marketing campaigns that highlight Unilever’s sustainable product innovations and responsible sourcing initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role collaborates closely with product development, supply chain, and corporate communications to ensure that sustainability messaging resonates with consumers, retailers, and stakeholders in Angola. The manager will also monitor market trends, consumer insights, and regulatory developments to keep Unilever at the forefront of sustainable consumer engagement. This position plays a pivotal role in driving brand equity, market share, and positive environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute multi‑channel sustainability marketing strategies for flagship brands, aligning with Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan.
- Collaborate with product teams to translate sustainability attributes into compelling consumer benefits and visual assets.
- Lead market research initiatives to uncover consumer attitudes toward sustainability and identify growth opportunities.
- Manage the creation of digital, print, and in‑store communication materials that emphasize eco‑friendly product features.
- Coordinate with external agencies, media partners, and NGOs to amplify campaign reach and credibility.
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as brand perception, sales lift, and sustainability impact metrics.
- Ensure compliance with local advertising regulations and Unilever’s brand guidelines.
- Mentor junior marketing staff on sustainability concepts and best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, circular economy, and responsible sourcing.
- Proven expertise in integrated marketing communications, especially within FMCG.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret consumer data and translate insights into action.
- Exceptional storytelling ability, both written and visual, to convey complex sustainability topics simply.
- Project management proficiency, capable of handling multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English; knowledge of local dialects is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across cross‑functional teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Sustainable Business or ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) is highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years’ experience in sustainability‑focused marketing roles within the consumer goods sector, preferably with a multinational corporation. Demonstrated success in launching sustainability‑centric campaigns that drove measurable business results is essential.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, complemented by performance‑based bonuses, health benefits, and a company‑wide pension scheme.
