Job Overview
Stantec Angola is seeking a dynamic Urban Resilience and Disaster Risk Management Specialist to lead initiatives in Namibe. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to mitigate climate-related risks and enhance urban resilience. The position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects aligned with global sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct urban risk assessments and develop disaster resilience strategies
- Design climate adaptation plans for coastal and urban infrastructure
- Collaborate with municipal authorities on emergency response frameworks
- Lead community engagement programs for disaster preparedness
- Integrate GIS and data analytics for urban vulnerability mapping
Required Skills
- Proficiency in urban planning software (ArcGIS, AutoCAD)
- Experience with disaster risk assessment methodologies
- Strong analytical skills for climate impact modeling
- Excellent communication for stakeholder coordination
- Knowledge of Angolan urban development regulations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred in Climate Resilience or Urban Sustainability
Experience
- 3-5 years in urban resilience or disaster management projects
- Proven experience in Angolan or Southern African urban contexts
Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
