Job Overview
The Academic Program Development Manager will lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting‑edge academic programs for tertiary institutions and professional training providers. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and industry partners to create curricula that meet both local accreditation requirements and global best practices. The manager will oversee the full lifecycle of program development, from needs analysis to launch, ensuring that each offering enhances student success and aligns with Pearson’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market and needs analyses to identify emerging academic trends and skill gaps in Angola.
- Lead cross‑functional teams in designing curricula, learning outcomes, assessment strategies, and instructional materials.
- Coordinate with accreditation bodies to ensure compliance with national education standards.
- Develop digital learning modules and integrate Pearson’s technology platforms for blended learning experiences.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to deliver programs on schedule.
- Monitor program performance, collect feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent Pearson at educational conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings across Angola and the region.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficiency with e‑learning authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.

Education
A Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a closely related field is required. Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or e‑learning development are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants must have 5‑7 years of proven experience in academic program development, preferably within higher education institutions or large training organizations. Experience working in Angola or other Portuguese‑speaking markets is highly valued.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based bonuses.
