SPIE Global Services Energy is currently recruiting a Deputy Project Manager to support its large-scale energy and industrial operations in Luanda, Angola. Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
- Assist the Project Manager in setting up technical and human resources for project execution
- Participate in the development of task breakdown structures and assignment schedules
- Contribute to project planning and site preparation meetings
- Support coordination between construction teams, engineers, and stakeholders
Financial & Contract Management:
- Responsible for monthly project invoicing and financial tracking
- Monitor and validate work order allocation and reporting
- Support contractual clarification with clients on a weekly basis
- Contribute to project cost control and financial reporting
Project Execution & Reporting:
- Participate in weekly site meetings and coordination sessions
- Ensure accurate reporting of field activities through time-sheet (TS) systems
- Support preparation of monthly reports, KPIs, and client deliverables
- Assist in tracking project progress and performance indicators
Procurement & Technical Support:
- Prepare supplier consultation and procurement documentation
- Support technical training provider coordination when required
- Participate in tendering activities when necessary
- Assist in technical and operational decision-making processes
Team Management & Development:
- May supervise part of the project team through delegated authority
- Contribute to team skill development and performance improvement
- Support knowledge sharing and operational efficiency initiatives
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration across project units
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Propose process improvements and operational innovations
- Participate in prototyping and technical experimentation activities
- Support enhancement of project delivery methodologies
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices
Candidate Profile:
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- 3 to 5 years of experience as Business Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar role
- Strong background in project management (technical, contractual, and financial aspects)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities
- Good business understanding and project coordination skills
- Ability to work in multicultural and high-pressure environments
- Experience in oil & gas or EPC projects is highly desirable
