Job Overview
This role focuses on leveraging geospatial data to support urban planning and environmental monitoring projects in Benguela. The position requires expertise in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), remote sensing, and spatial analysis to develop actionable insights for sustainable development and environmental impact assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data using GIS software and remote sensing tools.
- Develop maps, models, and reports to support urban planning and environmental monitoring projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geospatial insights into project designs.
- Conduct field surveys to validate data accuracy and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing platforms (ENVI, ERDAS).
- Strong analytical skills in spatial data interpretation and environmental impact assessment.
- Knowledge of urban planning regulations and environmental sustainability frameworks.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and Python/R for data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees (Master’s) are a plus.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in geospatial analysis, environmental monitoring, or urban planning projects. Prior experience in Angola or similar regions is preferred.
Salary
2,000,000 – 3,500,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
