Job Overview

The International Freight Operations Manager will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of air, sea, and land freight movements for Bolloré Logistics’ key accounts in Angola. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless cargo flow, compliance with international trade regulations, and alignment with client service level agreements. The manager will collaborate closely with sales, customs, warehouse, and transportation teams to design cost‑effective routing solutions, manage carrier relationships, and implement performance metrics that drive operational excellence.

As part of the broader Logistics & Supply Chain Management department, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing a team of freight coordinators, monitoring shipment status in real time, and leveraging digital tools such as TMS (Transportation Management System) and IoT tracking platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end freight strategies for air, sea, and road shipments, ensuring on‑time delivery and cost efficiency.
• Manage carrier selection, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring to achieve optimal service levels.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to guarantee compliance with Angolan import/export regulations and international trade laws.
• Lead a team of freight coordinators, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development support.
• Utilize TMS and data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as transit time, freight cost per ton, and on‑time delivery rates.
• Collaborate with sales and account managers to align logistics solutions with client expectations and contractual obligations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint.
• Prepare regular operational reports for senior management and clients, highlighting performance trends and risk mitigation actions.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of international freight regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
• Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills in English and Portuguese.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified International Freight Forwarder (CIFF) or APICS CPIM are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants must have 5‑7 years of progressive experience in international freight operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in the Angolan market or West‑Central African logistics is highly preferred.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this position is 2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be offered.
