Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate vessel arrivals and departures with port authorities and terminal operators in Namibe.
  • Manage and verify all maritime documentation, including Bills of Lading, Manifests, and Certificates of Origin.
  • Monitor shipment tracking and provide real-time updates to stakeholders regarding cargo status.
  • Optimize container utilization and manage equipment turnaround times to minimize demurrage costs.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure rapid clearance of imported and exported goods.
  • Resolve discrepancies in shipping documentation or cargo discrepancies immediately to prevent delays.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in maritime logistics software and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and international shipping regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills for route optimization and cost management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities under high-pressure maritime environments.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certifications in freight forwarding or port management are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of direct experience in maritime logistics or port operations. Proven experience working within the Angolan regulatory framework and familiarity with the Port of Namibe operations is a significant advantage.
