Job Overview

The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Microsoft’s data center facilities in Luanda, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the data center operations team, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
• Implement and maintain robust monitoring systems to detect and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Develop and execute capacity planning strategies to accommodate growth in cloud workloads and customer demand.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, hardware upgrades, and emergency response procedures.
• Collaborate with Microsoft’s global engineering teams to implement best practices and technology roadmaps.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement of critical equipment and services.
• Prepare detailed operational reports, incident analyses, and continuous improvement recommendations for senior leadership.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency with monitoring tools such as System Center Operations Manager, Azure Monitor, or equivalent.
• Experience in incident management, root‑cause analysis, and disaster recovery planning.
• Excellent leadership and team‑building abilities, with a focus on mentorship and skill development.
• Effective communication skills in English; Portuguese proficiency is highly desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make data‑driven decisions.

Education

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNP Data Center, or ITIL Foundation are considered strong assets.

Experience

A minimum of five to seven years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise‑grade data center operations is required. Prior exposure to cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, and experience in a multinational technology environment will be highly valued.

Salary
