Job Overview
The Infrastructure Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in planning, designing, and supervising construction activities for major civil works in the Lubango region. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into detailed engineering designs, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with local regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and construction drawings for roads, bridges, and related structures.
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical assessments, and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Monitor construction progress, perform quality inspections, and resolve technical issues on‑site.
- Prepare and manage project schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.
- Ensure compliance with Angolan building codes, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Collaborate with local authorities, community representatives, and client teams to address stakeholder concerns.
- Generate regular progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for senior management.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and STAAD.Pro.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Portuguese proficiency is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor performance.
- Knowledge of construction contract administration and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green construction practices.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) or a Master’s degree will be considered an asset and may enhance candidacy for future leadership roles.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in infrastructure project engineering, preferably with exposure to large‑scale road or bridge projects in emerging markets. Demonstrated success in managing all phases of the project lifecycle—from concept through commissioning—is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
