Job Overview
The Logistics Operations Manager will lead end‑to‑end logistics activities at the Namibe hub, overseeing cargo handling, freight forwarding, customs compliance, and warehouse management. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will coordinate cross‑functional teams, optimize transport routes, and implement technology solutions that enhance visibility and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational plans that align with corporate objectives and local market demands.
- Manage daily cargo operations, including loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to streamline clearance processes.
- Analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead a team of supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, implement cycle‑count procedures, and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Drive adoption of digital tools such as Maersk’s proprietary TMS and IoT tracking systems.
- Prepare operational budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost‑effective resource utilization.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address client inquiries and resolve service issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, environmental regulations, and corporate governance policies.
Required Skills
