Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA team at Nestlé’s Ondjiva manufacturing plant, ensuring that all products comply with internal quality standards, national regulations, and international food safety certifications such as ISO 22000 and HACCP. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 22000, HACCP, and Nestlé global standards.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and closed on time.
• Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and conduct risk assessments to prevent product non‑conformities.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency.
• Train and mentor QA staff, fostering a proactive quality culture across all shifts.
• Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting trends, root‑cause analyses, and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Angolan food safety regulations and coordinate with local authorities during inspections.
• Manage supplier qualification and incoming material inspections to guarantee raw material integrity.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards (ISO 22000, HACCP, BRC) and regulatory requirements in Angola.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
• Leadership experience in managing cross‑functional QA teams.
• Effective communication skills in Portuguese and English.
• Proficiency with quality management software and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production schedules.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this position is 250,000 – 400,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based bonuses may be awarded.
