Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating and monitoring the financial aspects of TotalEnergies’ renewable projects in Angola. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, legal, and commercial teams to ensure that each project meets its financial targets while adhering to regulatory standards. The analyst will also support senior finance leaders in securing funding, managing risk, and delivering comprehensive financial reporting for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed financial models for wind, solar and hydro projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams and tax incentives.
- Conduct feasibility studies and sensitivity analyses to assess project viability under various market scenarios.
- Prepare investment memoranda, pitch decks and financing proposals for banks, investors and multilateral institutions.
- Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Angolan energy laws, tax codes and environmental regulations.
- Monitor project cash flows, debt service coverage ratios and key performance indicators throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in negotiating loan agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other contractual documents.
- Provide regular financial updates to senior management and external stakeholders, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis for the renewable portfolio.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel, VBA or specialized project finance software.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics and policy frameworks in Angola.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex financial concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is essential.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CFA, CPA or PMP is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience in project finance, investment analysis or corporate finance, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Experience working with international lenders, development banks or sovereign wealth funds is a strong plus.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 Angolan Kwanza (SSP) per month, complemented by performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a comprehensive retirement plan.
